Performing Arts & Visual Arts
The facility of Performing Arts at Doon Techno School, operates on the premise that we are teaching and nurturing lively individual human beings who are developing as critical thinkers and artists in a dynamic and ever changing world.
The several functions provide for Self and Group Expression in many realms including the intellectual, aesthetic, emotional and social. They inculcate understanding in an educational setting based on the principals of integrated learning directly applying the principles of a Liberal Arts Education.
The process of creative theatre, music - both vocal & instrumental and dance are our fundamental teaching tool and driving force.
We strive to provide our students with meaningful experiences which will foster skills like self discipline, voice control, confidence, body language and inter personal behaviour.
Due emphasis is laid on Public Performance as it is the culmination of these skills and results in their chiseling and polishing. The process facilitates an overall evolving and blossoming of Individual Personality.
The Art programme at Doon Techno School has at its core the power of imagination and its underlying strength in the building of flexible, creative, analytical, inquisitive and humanistic minds; Visual education at DTS is based on the understanding that art is for everyone not just the "talented" few. The art department believes that visual education is an integral part of a liberal arts education. To be educated holistically is to be more aware of the rich history of human ideas as expressed in the arts and more focused on the ever changing, more global, multicultural and technologically advanced work of the 21st Century.
Studies in the visual arts encourage students to trust their ability to see, to gather information, to think about their observations and to believe in their innate sensibilities. The Art department emphasises the development of creative ideas in relation to the understanding of skills, history and new technology.
